Editorial Board
Grassroots Thinking is shaped by a collective of editors, cultural workers, and organizers who believe in the power and impact of independent media to serve the Black working class. Our editorial board stewards the political and creative vision of the publication, ensures our values are reflected across all content, and builds relationships with contributors rooted in mutual respect and shared struggle.
We work in close collaboration with the Executive Committee of Community Movement Builders to align our editorial direction with broader organizing goals and to remain grounded in the needs and vision of our base.
We are accountable to our communities—not institutions, advertisers, or gatekeepers. Our work is collaborative, iterative, and guided by the lived realities of the people we write for and alongside.
What We Do:
- Review and edit submissions across formats (written, audio, video, visual)
- Work closely with contributors to develop strong, grounded pieces
- Maintain editorial standards aligned with our mission and values
- Help shape long-term strategy, themes, and campaigns
- Cultivate a culture of political clarity, rigor, and care
Our Commitments
Our editorial work is guided by a shared set of political and cultural principles. These values show up in how we write, edit, collaborate, and build power through media.
